Photo Essay: Trees.

“The wonder is that we can see these trees and not wonder more.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

The trees are so important because:
- they help people and animals to receive breathable air,
- they provide us with shelter,
- they keep Earth cool,
- they provide people and animals with food,
- they block wind,
- they clean up dirty air and soil,
- they give us medicine, etc.

Their beauty and strength has symbolized the wonder of life.

In myths and folklore trees have a deeply magical and spiritual meaning. People have seen them as symbols of growth, death and revival.

“The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing which stands in their way.” William Blake

“When we stand with the trees, we feel we are part of them, and they are part of us. They give us a sense of belonging to the greater universe.” Joyce Tenneson
