“The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can help write that story by setting goals.”
Melody Beattie
We spoke about 5 New Year's Resolutions that could help to improve your Photography.
But we need to remember that according to a University of Scranton study, only 8% of those who set resolutions achieve them.
“New Year's Day: now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual . . ."There are several reasons for failing resolutions, but the main are:
Mark Twain
- setting unrealistic goals,
- procrastination (Thinking “I have a whole year ahead, I’ll start next week”),
- defining a resolution by an outcome,
- lack of motivation.
Maybe there’s no one simple formula that you could focus on to accomplish your goal.
But here are the tips how to achieve your resolutions:
1. Take an ambitious goal and break it down into more easily achievable tasks.
2. Define your resolution not by an outcome, but by the action (the thing that you can control).
3. You’re more likely to reach your goals if you share them.
4. Re-motivate yourself.
5. Start out with an idea, turn it into a defined goal and have a disciplined approach to your daily routine.
6. Do not listen to the voices inside that say you’re not good enough, and instead listen to the voice that says you have something special to offer the world.
7. Take note of what’s working for your goals and what’s not working and simply do more of what’s working.
